MAINTENANCE
CONTRACTS
After your machine
has been delivered and put into service, in most industrial situations,
it will begin to deteriorate and, over time, wear and eventual breakdown
are certain to occur depending on the intensity of the work it performs.
Breakdown means loss of production and time being consumed trying
to get the machine restored to workable condition.
To
prevent such things we offer flexible maintenance contracts whereby
a Unipre trained specialist engineer will make regular visits to
your works, by appointment, to examine the machine and use his experienced
eye to spot any deterioration before it leads to a breakdown as
well as carrying out a pre-established list of items to check and/or
service.
At these visits
the engineer can advise and instruct about maintenance, working
practices and improvements as well as discuss with you any problems
or developments that might be relevant.
Apart from the
benefits of preventative maintenance customers with a maintenance
contract in place get priority attention over non-contract customers
and a 10% discount on the hourly engineer’s rate. This is
because the contract enables us to assess our future facilities
needs and plan ahead. If you wish to consider taking up this service
we will discuss with you the required number of visits per year,
which depends on extent and frequency of use, type of material to
be processed, degree of involvement of your own personnel, the number
of hours needed on site at each visit and whether the visits should
be taken as standard scheduled visits or emergency visits. Frequently
a mixture of the two types is proposed. You will then be given a
quotation on a per annum basis which will be payable in advance.
If this is acceptable a visits schedule will be agreed with you
although dates can be changed if necessary.
| With
effect from the autumn of 2007 more favourable terms are being
introduced to include, amongst other things, a 2½% discount
on all Unipre spares for the duration of the contract. This
will apply to all contract renewals and new contracts entered
into after mid September. |

REPAIR
SERVICE
We maintain
factory-trained engineers to carry out repairs or modifications
to your machine, either at your premises or in our own workshops.
This is normally charged on a cost per hour basis plus parts and
travelling expenses.
OPERATOR
TRAINING
We can arrange
to (and frequently do) run a training course for your operatives.
A minimum of 2 persons is required and the course covers all aspects
of running a Unipre machine so as to get the best out of it, from
start up to taking out of service, daily maintenance, periodic maintenance,
trouble shooting and health & safety matters. Each participant
is provided with a comprehensive training manual and course completion
certificate at the end.
SPARE
PARTS
We carry an
extensive stock of commonly needed spare parts and can normally
obtain most other genuine Unipre parts within a few days. We recommend
you open and maintain a credit account to permit prompt dispatch
of parts. Some companies place a blanket order with us for a pre-determined
sum of money enabling their operatives to call off parts directly,
thereby avoiding delays awaiting paperwork.
Even
better than these arrangements, we cannot emphasise too strongly
that you need to carry your own stock of spare parts for your particular
machine, as these are then immediately available when required.
It is important to re-order parts used promptly to maintain the
integrity of your parts stock. We can help you to draw up a list
of spare parts to be kept and can supply a spare parts package if
ordered with each new machine. It is essential to carry at least
a kit of spare pumps and hoses as demand for these items is unpredictable
and we do sometimes run out of stock.
COMMISSIONING
Commissioning
is not included in the cost of a new machine. Customers who are
already using a Unipre machine of the same type or are buying more
than one machine do not want to pay for commissioning they do not
need. Commissioning is therefore available at extra cost but we
do recommend it in all other cases.
After delivery
of the machine an engineer will attend your premises and check the
machine over for any signs of transit damage or missing items, he
will then show your operative(s) how to load the tanks with material,
operate the machine and carry out essential maintenance and cleaning.
A set amount of time is allocated for each commissioning, depending
on the type of machine involved, and this is reflected in the price.
You will be given a list of preparations you need to attend to before
the engineer arrives. These include ensuring you have available:
-
Materials to be processed with data sheets and processing instructions
-
Moulds, where appropriate
-
Cleaning / flushing solutions*
-
Services i.e. electrical power of the correct voltage and capacity
(3 phase requires neutral and earth wires) protected with a
universal current rccb, compressed air
-
Waste disposal facility
-
Warming ovens where necessary
-
Suitable working area, bench, etc
* these can
be supplied if pre-ordered
If these items
are not ready when the engineer arrives any time he spends waiting
is taking up the allocated time. Extra time required will be chargeable
at the standard hourly rate.
MACHINE
HIRE
We
try to keep available a type G31 and a type M10 machine for hire
to customers under certain circumstances such as:
- For
development trials
- To
cover machine breakdown
- For
production to begin before a new machine is available
for delivery
Charges are
available on application for items i & ii when machines are
available. There is no charge for item iii provided a firm order
has been placed and the appropriate deposit has been paid. It is
a requirement that customers sign a hire agreement and pay a security
deposit before a machine can be delivered.
Up to 50% of
the hire charge will be discounted against a new machine if an order
for one is placed within 3 months of the return of the machine.
Hire periods are normally restricted to four weeks maximum.
PRE-USED,
REFURBISHED MACHINES
These are sometimes
available at substantially lower prices than new machines. Please
enquire as to availability. |
